What is RX Cares for Missouri?
"RX Cares for Missouri" is an initiative of the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a part of their ongoing effort to educate residents about how Missouri pharmacists can assist with drug safety - whether it's how to take prescribed medications, drug interactions and side effects, over-the-counter versus prescribed medications, how supplements, vitamins and holistic/herbal remedies can affect drug effectiveness and safety, as well as many other questions and issues consumers might have regarding their overall health and wellness.
Pharmacists are an invaluable resource and offer services such as pain management; over-the-counter and supplement suggestions; seasonal and lifespan immunizations; medication reviews to assess safety, effectiveness, interactions and adherence; care management and counseling for disease states such as diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, and high cholesterol; and smoking cessation counseling.
